Aircraft-aware laser interlock

The sky is part of your stage. Watch it.

Laser Sky Guard monitors live air traffic above your venue and blocks laser output the moment an aircraft enters your protected zone — automatically, before anyone has to react.

LASER OUTPUT BLOCKED

Outdoor laser shows share their airspace with pilots.

A spotter on the roof can miss a low approach, a helicopter or a light aircraft with no lights on the right side. Laser Sky Guard adds a second, tireless pair of eyes: it reads aircraft positions continuously, compares them against the zone you define for each show, and cuts the beam through your existing interlock — with an audible, visible alert for the operator.

How it works

From aircraft signal to beam off, in three steps.

01 — Listen

Live traffic in

Aircraft positions arrive from cloud flight-tracking services, from an ADS-B receiver on site, or from both at once.

02 — Compare

Your zone, your rules

Set the protected area around the venue. Every aircraft is checked against it continuously, with distance, altitude and speed in view.

03 — Block

Beam off, automatically

An intrusion triggers the interlock and alerts the operator. Output resumes only when the zone is clear again.

Features

Made for the control desk, not the lab.

Radar-style live map

Dark, show-friendly display with color-coded aircraft and your zone drawn on the map.

Automatic interlock

Drives external laser-shutdown hardware the instant an aircraft enters the zone.

OSC output

Send zone and alert state to your show control, media server or TouchDesigner.

Visual and audio alerts

Blinking alert state and sound cues so the operator knows immediately, even looking away.

Manual override block

One button to cut output by hand, whatever the traffic picture says.

Timestamped event log

Every intrusion and block recorded, for post-show review and documentation.

Sortable traffic table

Callsign, distance, altitude and speed for every aircraft nearby, sorted the way you need.

Per-venue configuration

Save the zone and settings for each venue and recall them on the next tour stop.

Standalone app

Runs on its own — no TouchDesigner or other host software required.

Data sources

Cloud, on-site hardware, or both.

Start with an internet connection. Add a receiver at the venue when you need traffic straight from the aircraft — with the cloud as a second opinion.

Cloud flight data

Reads live positions from online services such as OpenSky Network and Flightradar24. Nothing to install at the venue beyond the laptop.

Needs: internet connection

On-site ADS-B receiver

Connects to a local ADS-B receiver on your network — tested with the Jetvision Air!Squitter — for traffic received directly at the venue, independent of the cloud.

Needs: compatible receiver + antenna
